The Transit Tested Certification Mark on a package is visible proof to carriers that it has passed industry accepted preshipment laboratory testing and that ISTA headquarters has reviewed the results of the test report and certified the package-product for safe transit.

Any company may test a package to an ISTA test procedure, but ONLY ISTA members receive notification of Certification and, under a Manufacturers License, print or affix the TRANSIT TESTED mark on their packages.

If your package fails, all your manufacturing excellence, six sigma quality and marketing know-how will have been rendered meaningless and your customer goodwill may be lost forever.

ISTA is all about making sure that doesn’t happen!

Through the Transit Tested program, certification provides recognition of conformance to a standard or specification and clearly validates to all parties that requirements have been met.

As part of the program, ISTA certifies packaged-products, testing laboratories and packaging professionals.

Package Certification - Transport packaging successfully tested in an ISTA Certified Laboratory according to one of the current ISTA Procedures or Projects may be certified as Transit Tested. The test lab completes a report form and forwards it to ISTA Headquarters for review and filing. Shippers who are members of ISTA may elect to have the Transit Tested Certification Mark printed on the approved package.

Testing Laboratory Certification – a strong commitment to transport packaging professionalism, as well as assuring a laboratory is properly equipped to conduct ISTA package performance testing.

Certified Packaging Laboratory Professional - A unique program that encourages and recognizes development and excellence in packaging laboratory professionals.
