As part of ISTA’s 2022 annual protocol review, the Standards Council is seeking your feedback, through a brief survey, on protocols 3A, 3B, and 3E. The information will be reviewed by the Standards Council to help understand how the protocols are utilized, effectiveness, as well as to identify both Technical and Editorial improvement opportunities. Your participation and feedback are appreciated!

This training will be instructed by ISTA Pharma Committee Members and industry leaders Carolyn Williamson and Eric Silberstein. In this Who, What, Why, Where of Cold Chain training at the ISTA Forum you will learn: 
  • Basics of a cold chain program 
  • ​Attributes of a gold standard cold chain program 
  • Guiding standards for the industry 
  • An introduction to the Shipping Qualification Process Flow 
  • Lessons learned on selecting test labs and suppliers (labs, packaging, recording devices, etc)

  • How to create a robust URS
  • How to design and implement your OQ process
  • Navigating Change Control to implement your Qualified System
  • Lessons learned on implementing a Qualified Shipping System
  • Case studies

The learning objectives that should be expected after completion of the Principles of Distribution Packaging Training at the ISTA Forum include:
  • Have a better understanding of the roles of the different layers of packaging in distribution.  
  • Understand the fundamentals of corrugated and making sustainable packaging decisions.  
  • Understand the importance of preshipment testing and the role ISTA plays in test standard development.  
  • Understand the various commerce and supply channels which challenge packaging and drive design decisions.

Join Larry Dull, ISTA's lead instructor, for this one-half day training program at the ISTA Forum on the implementation of our Responsible Packaging by Design (RPbD) recommended guideline. This training will be followed by an exam which, if successfully passed, will lead to a certification in the use of the guideline.

We want to hear from you! The ISTA Pharma Committee is seeking industry peer review on the latest best practice guideline "Thermal Shipping System: Performance Qualification (PQ) and Performance Verification (PV) Best Practice Guideline".

The goal is to have principles described in this guidance be adopted by the entire pharmaceutical supply chain, to harmonize/standardize the requirements that should be met when executing a PQ/PV on thermal shipping systems. The deadline for comments is Monday, March 14

 




ICYMI: The ISTA Pharma Committee hosted a special Technical Exchange to continue the industry discussion on how to shape the future of ISTA Standard 20 and 7E as well as review and vote on the next committee activity topics.
