  • ista views. All members receive free subscriptions to ISTA’s digital magazine ista views. This publication contains not only ISTA and industry news, but also technical and operational information which can directly influence the bottom line and make your job easier.
  • Certification of your packaged-product. Only members whose packaged-products are successfully tested in ISTA certified labs may have those products ISTA certified. Certification strengthens your position in a dispute with anyone involved in your products’ distribution channel. More importantly, certification provides greater confidence in a volatile transport environment.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DUES

Membership Plans NOT CERTIFYING a Laboratory:

Shipper: $650
  • Any organization that enters goods into physical distribution (product manufacturer or brand owner).Requires submission of a signed ISTA License Agreement.
  • Must be primary location. Additional locations may join as an Additional Location member (see type below).
  • Membership includes two primary location contacts: Delegate and Alternate. Additional contacts may join as Associate members.
  • Pro-rated according to date joined: (April-June $488); (July-Sep $325); (Oct-Dec $813 includes next year's dues)


Carrier: $650
  • Any organization primarily engaged in the transportation or distribution of goods in commerce. 
  • Must be primary location.
  • Membership includes two primary location contacts: Delegate and Alternate. Additional contacts may join as Associate members.
  • Pro-rated according to date joined: (April-June $488); (July-Sep $325); (Oct-Dec $813 includes next year's dues)


Supplier: $650
  • Any organization engaged in the supply of materials, goods or services relating to the physical distribution of goods.
  • Must be primary location.
  • Membership includes two primary location contacts: Delegate and Alternate. Additional contacts may join as Associate members.
  • Pro-rated according to date joined: (April-June $488); (July-Sep $325); (Oct-Dec $813 includes next year's dues)


Additional Location – Shipper Only: $150 
  • Additional shipping locations not located at Primary Location’s address.
  • Membership includes one contact. Additional contacts may  join as Associate members.
  • The Manufacturer’s License Number will be the same as the Primary Location. 

Consultant: $350
  • Any individual engaged in supplying expert packaging knowledge or serves relating to the physical distribution of goods. 
  • Self-employed.
  • Will Not be certifying a laboratory AND Will Not be using the Certification Mark.

Associate: $150
  • Any individual employed by an existing member location.

Individual: $200
  • Must be retired from the packaging industry.   
  • Must not be certifying a laboratory AND will not be using the Certification Mark.

University: $400
  • A school that offers courses leading to a degree (such as a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree) and where research is completed. 
  • Membership includes two primary location contacts: Delegate and Alternate. Additional contacts may join as Associate members.

Student: $10 Member University; $30 Non-Member University 
  • Any individual presently enrolled at an accredited educational institute in an University undergraduate or graduate packaging program.  
 
Membership Types WITH a Laboratory:

Primary Location: $1,100
  • Carrier: Any organization primarily engaged in the transportation or distribution of goods in commerce.   
  • Shipper: Any organization that enters goods into physical distribution (product manufacturer or brand owner).Requires submission of a signed ISTA License Agreement.
  • Supplier: Any organization engaged in the supply of materials, goods or services relating to the physical distribution of goods.
  • 3rd Party Testing Laboratory: Any independent laboratory engaged in preshipment testing of packaged-products in accordance with ISTA standards. ISTA Certified Laboratories are further classified one of two ways - Commercial or In-house. Commercial Labs offer testing services to all companies with little or no restrictions. In-house Labs offer testing services that may be restricted by company policy (usually this is a supplier that tests only for customers.) 
  • University: A school that offers courses leading to a degree (such as a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree) and where research is completed.
  • All Laboratory Memberships include two primary location contacts: Delegate and Alternate. Additional contacts may join as Associate members.
  • Pro-rated according to date joined: (April-June $825); (July-Sep $550); (Oct-Dec $1,375 – includes next year’s dues)
